- We collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, your name and, with Google, your profile picture link. If you sign in with your email we send a code to that address. There is no password. You can use the app without an account; signing in is only needed to follow a team or a match.
- We keep a record of the teams, players and matches you follow, and the token Apple gives us so we can send you notifications and Live Activities.
- We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for crash and performance reports. Both receive your account id.
- We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
- You can delete your account in the app under Settings, or by emailing [email protected].
Who we are
Off Tangent Labs Pty Ltd ("Pavilion", "we", "us") is an Australian company. We make the Pavilion mobile app, which shows live cricket scores and lets you follow matches and leagues. This policy covers the app and the getpavilion.app website. When you use them, we are the controller of your personal information.
Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
Information you give us
You can read scores, scorecards, fixtures and standings without an account. When you follow a team or a match we ask you to sign in. With Apple or Google, they confirm who you are and send us:
- your name
- your email address (Apple may send a private relay address instead of your real one)
- a link to your profile picture, if you sign in with Google
With email sign-in, you type your email address and we send a one-time code to it. We store the address. No name or picture arrives this way.
We do not ask for or store a password. We do not ask for your phone number, address, date of birth or payment details.
Information about how you use the app
- Followed teams, players, matches and leagues. Following is optional and needs an account. We store what you follow so your home screen shows it first and it is the same on every device you sign in on.
- Notification tokens. When you turn on notifications or Live Activities, Apple gives your device a token. We store it against your account so we can send you score updates. The token identifies your device to Apple. It does not identify you to anyone else.
- Device details. Your device model, iOS version, app version, language and a per-app device identifier that Apple generates. We use these to send notifications to the right device and to make sense of crash reports.
- Product events. Which screens you open, what you tap and when. We record these to see which features people use and to find problems.
- Crash and performance reports. If the app crashes, hangs or runs slowly, a report is sent with the technical details of what happened. It includes your account id so we can find every report from one person when we are fixing a problem. It does not include a picture of your screen.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data, or the advertising identifier. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use it
- To run the app. Signing you in, keeping your follows in sync, sending notifications and Live Activities.
- To fix problems. Reading crash reports and product events to find and repair bugs.
- To improve the app. Seeing which features people use so we know what to build next.
- To talk to you. Replying when you email us, and sending notices about the service such as a change to this policy.
- To meet legal duties. Responding to lawful requests, enforcing our terms, and preventing abuse of the service.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Legal basis (for people in the EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Contract. Signing you in, storing your follows and sending the notifications you asked for are needed to provide the app you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests. Analytics and crash reports help us keep the app working and improve it. We have judged that this does not override your rights, because the data is about how the app is used, not about you.
- Consent. Notifications and Live Activities only work after you allow them in iOS. You can turn them off in Settings at any time.
- Legal obligation. Where a law requires us to keep or hand over information.
Where your data goes
We are in Australia. Our servers are in India. PostHog and Sentry are in the United States. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, your data leaves those regions. We rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (and the UK addendum) with each provider to protect it. You can ask us for a copy of those clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account, follows and notification tokens: for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account we delete them.
- Analytics events: PostHog keeps them for 12 months, then deletes them. This is PostHog's standard period and we have not changed it.
- Crash and performance reports: Sentry keeps them for 90 days, then deletes them. This is Sentry's standard period and we have not changed it.
- Emails you send us: for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the request.
Your rights
You can:
- see the personal information we hold about you and get a copy
- correct it
- delete it
- ask us to stop or limit how we use it
- object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
- take it to another service in a common file format
- withdraw consent, e.g., by turning notifications off in iOS
- complain to a privacy regulator
To delete your account, open Settings in the app and choose Delete Account. This removes your account, your follows and your notification tokens from our database. Analytics events and crash reports already sent to PostHog and Sentry are kept under your account id until their retention period ends, as set out above. If you want those removed sooner, email [email protected] and we will request it. If you cannot use the app, email us from the address on your account and we will delete the account for you.
For anything else, email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm you own the account before we act. We answer within 30 days.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you can complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
People in the United States
If you live in a US state with a privacy law (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Virginia), you have the rights listed above. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use it for profiling that has a legal or similar effect on you. We do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals because there is no agreed standard for them, and we do not track you across other sites anyway. You can appeal a decision we make about your request by replying to our email.
For California residents, the categories we collect are identifiers (name, email, account id, device identifier), internet activity (product events, crash reports) and inferences we might draw from those about which features you use. We collect them from you, from Apple or Google when you sign in, and from your device. We disclose them only to the service providers listed above.
Children
The app is for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Security
Data travels to and from our servers over HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS keychain on your device. Access to our servers and to PostHog and Sentry is limited to the people who work on the app. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that your information will never be accessed without permission.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information in a way you would not expect, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
